Voting Begins in Kerala, TN, Puducherry

Historically, the people of Kerala have the tendency to choose the opposition party in the forthcoming election. Hence, LDF faces an aggressive challenge from the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).

Defence Minister A K Antony said in a meeting held in Thiruvanthapuram, if LDF again come into rule Kerala, the state will definitely become Second Bangal. LDF Rule Wallowed in corruptoin says Sonia

Harippad: Congress President Sonia Gandhi today alleged that “scams and corruptions” were the trademark of LDF government in Kerala and hailed CPI(M) a party lacking ideologies and principles.

Under the LDF rule, Kerala has fell behind in every division as CPI-M was always opposed to “every modern, forward looking development”, she said at an election meeting at Harippad, where KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala is contesting.

“In the last five years under LDF rule, Kerala lagged behind. They are steeped in corruption. Scams after scams have taken place. Liquor, land and lottery syndicates are behind the government. They are ruling the rural areas,” she said.

Opponent sues Mr.V.S Achuthanandan for ”defamatory” Remark

Kerala Chief Minister and CPI-M veteran V S Achuthanandan today fell into trouble on a comment he made with his opponent and Congress leader in Malampuzha segment Lathika Subhash. She filed a petition against CM and the Election Commission will inspect on this. The row was sparked by Achuthanandan’s comment at a press meet in Palakkad yesterday when he said, “They are famous, and, if you inquire, you will know how they are famous,” referring to his opponent candidate for the April 13 State Election polls. Stung by 87-year old Achuthanandan’s reported remarks, Lathika filed a petition in a magistrate court in Palakkad which decided to record her statement on April 30 while the state Chief Electoral Officer sought a report from Palakkad district collector on the issue.
