P. K. Jayalakshmi – Minister Welfare of Backward Communities Kerala State

P. K. Jayalakshmi, First tribal Minister (Welfare of Backward Communities), who is the youngest minister of Kerala Sate assembly 2011.  She is 29 years old and representing Mananthavadi constituency, Wayanad District. P. K. Jayalakshmi is an ace archer and achieved silver medal for archery in state competition.

P.K Jayalakshmi entered into politics by congress students wing KSU ( Kerala Students Union) in her early college life. She was the member of Thavinjal Grama Panchayat in Wayanad during the years 2005 and 2010 and also became the youth congress president of Wayanad Lok Sabha. She creates a record by defeating sitting MLA K.C Kunhiraman of LDF by 12734 votes at Mananthavady constituency. She completed his school life in Kaatinmoola At. Sebastian U.P school, Thalappuzha Government higher secondary school and took B.A English degree from Mananthavady Government College.
